sustainability

It might surprise you to learn that traditional floristry is not a green industry. We hope to change that, and are constantly refining our practices to align with this goal.

Our environmental and ethical standards are industry-leading and at the forefront of everything we do.

As one of the most ethical full-service florists in Tasmania we champion local in-season flowers, and work with incredible small-scale producers to bring you the best of the best.

seasonality

We are a floral design studio that observes the shifting of each season, and we feel very lucky to live and work in close rhythm with this natural world.

We love that plants conjure different moods throughout the year, providing nuanced memories of their life cycle.

This is why we choose to work with flowers that are in season: to ensure we can offer them at their best.

champion of the weird

We hold a soft place in our hearts for many of the unruly, overlooked and unexpected plants.

Botanicals are beautiful in season - and can be delightful in decline!

We collect tangled vines and drying seed pods at their freakiest, and love surprising people with these ingredients to challenge traditional ideas of beauty within floristry.

earth-first practices

We champion local Tasmanian field flowers throughout the growing season. We never used bleached or dyed flowers. Hyper-local flowers may be substituted with Australian grown flowers as needed.

It is important to tread lightly on This Natural World.

Our waste minimisation policy includes a minimal use of single plastics, and absolutely no floral foam or plastic wrappings.

We spend a lot of time designing and adapting eco-mechanics (such as wire and water vial systems) to be used again and again.

We extend these policies to our botanical materials, repurposing what we can, and composting everything else :)
